The power of human existence lies in our ability to connect and affirm ourselves through our interactions with others. As we navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and embrace the reality of the digital society, what do we need to thrive in the future? In this presentation, we explore the insights and recommendations for the future that have emerged from Dr. Yamagiwa's extensive research on gorillas.

One of the key concepts in Alfred Adler's individual psychology, which he founded, is "Gemeinschaftsgefühl" or "social interest." The original term "Mitmenschlichkeit" means "the sense of connection between individuals." The problem lies in the fact that without conscious awareness, connections with others can easily turn into power dynamics or dependency relationships. Simply being connected with others does not guarantee a healthy relationship. Building an equal and independent relationship is not achieved through scolding or praising. In the lecture, we will explore, with specific examples from everyday life, how to build such relationships.
14:50 ~ 15:50 (Day 3)

Is the person next to you the same as you in appearance, voice, and heart? No, no one is exactly the same. As unique individuals, we unintentionally draw boundaries between ourselves and others. Yet, we still yearn to understand those who are different from us.
Despite the history of conflicts that humans have repeated, is it not possible to find something beyond those conflicts? This is where our discussion begins, with Mr. Tomino, who depicted human battles through the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series*. Even though understanding each other may be challenging, can we not discover something beyond conflicts?
