Hitachi Academy Co., Ltd. is granted the use of Privacy Mark, which is given by the JIPDEC (Japan Institute for Promotion of Digital Economy and Community) to organizations that properly handle personal information.

Background of Personal Information Protection Policy of Hitachi Academy Co., Ltd.

Hitachi Academy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hitachi AC") is an organization established with the aim of enhancing the development of community and does this through the offering of the total solution for the human resources development/talent management.
Hitachi AC fully understands the importance of the protection of the personal information. It is our social responsibility to use and protect personal information appropriately.
Hitachi AC officially confirms this policy as the standard of conduct by which executives and employees shall observe and be required to follow completely. These rules will be maintained and improved continually.

Hitachi AC Personal Information Protection Policy

  1. Collect, use and provide personal information

    While carefully considering the personal information is entrusted to us in our company activities, Hitachi AC will handle such information appropriately by establishing a management system for personal information protection for each type of business, and also by following our rules for collecting, using or providing personal information. In addition, Hitachi AC will not use such information for purposes other than the original intent.

  2. Follow laws and norms

    Hitachi AC will follow the Japanese laws, guidelines and other norms for the handling of personal information. Also, Hitachi AC will conform our rules with personal information management to such laws, guidelines and other norms.

  3. Implement safety measures and correct problems

    To ensure the correctness and safety of personal information, Hitachi AC will take reasonable and appropriate security control measures and will apply corrective actions against risks such as loss, destruction, alteration, disclosure, and improper access of any personal information.

  4. Respect a person's rights regarding his or her personal information

    Hitachi AC will respond appropriately and promptly to any complaints from the original person regarding matters of disclosure, correction, deletion, and/or cessation of their personal information.

  5. Establish rules for managing personal information protection and make continual improvements

    Hitachi AC will make sure that executives and employees recognize the importance of personal information protection, and will establish rules for personal information management to appropriately use and protect personal information and ensure that the management system is put in execution. These rules will be maintained and improved continually.

Handling of Personal Information collected through official website of the Hitachi AC

A.Acquisition of Access Logs of the website

There are cases where we may use personal information that is collected and recorded automatically on the website. Automatically collected or recorded personal information includes access log information of customers.
Access log information might be linked to customer information when it is recorded, but we only use the information within the scope of the purpose of use. And also, personal information collected will be physically deleted after the end of some period. We will not reuse or share such information.

B.About Use of Cookies and Web Beacons

Hitachi AC uses cookies*1 and web beacons (clear GIF)*2 on part of the website for the convenience of users. A person can refuse to receive a cookie, or enable display of a warning message when receiving a cookie by changing their web browser settings. For more details, please refer to the instructions for the web browser you are using.
Furthermore, a person can reject a web beacon by changing the settings to refuse receipt of a cookie. Please note, however, that a person who has refused to accept cookies may not be able to use all or part of our services provided on the website.

By using the combination of the mail magazine and web beacons, we may process personal information such as IP address that you access from, sort of access device, access history of website, and also an email open history. C.About use of Google Analytic

In order to obtain and comprehend customer's access history of our website, Hitachi AC utilizes the service called "Google Analytics" which is provided by Google LLC. Google LLC collects, records and analyzes customer's access history. a person can reject Google Analytics by changing the settings to refuse providing such information. Personal Information collected by Google Analytics is handled based on the terms and conditions/privacy policy of Google LLC. Please refer below for detail.

D.About use of Google Behavioral advertising

Collection of the personal information or behavior history which does not enable identifying the specific individual

By using the program offered by the advertising professional, Hitachi AC offers the behavioral advertising to our customers. To do so, we use cookies*1 to collect customer's access history of our website (however, the person cannot be identified). A person can reject receiving any behavioral advertising by accessing the opt-out page of the advertising professional and changing the settings. A person also can reject receiving any behavioral advertising by visiting the opt-out page of Network Advertising Initiative.

E.About social media (SNS) used on our website

Information exchanged between the web server that controls a website and the web browser that a person uses. Cookies can be saved as files on a person's PC. Handling Policy of Personal Information - Provision to Third Party

Hitachi AC will not provide the personal information with a third party without first obtaining consent of the person, except in the following cases:

  • Cases in which the provision of personal information is based on laws
  • Cases in which the provision of personal information is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
  • Cases in which the provision of personal information is specially necessary for improving public hygiene or promoting the sound growth of children and in which it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
  • Cases in which the provision of personal information is necessary for cooperating with a state institution, a local public body, or an individual or entity entrusted by one in executing the operations prescribed by laws and in which obtaining the consent of the person might impede the execution of the operations concerned

Outsourcing of Handling of Personal Information

Handling of customer information may be outsourced to the extent required to achieve the purpose of use. Hitachi AC concludes memorandums with companies with which it shares information, to appropriately handle and protect personal information.

Request to Disclose Personal Information or Raising Complaints

You may have certain rights under applicable law, including the right to:

  • be informed about what personal information is being processed, the purpose of the processing, and the recipients to whom the information is being disclosed;
  • correct and/or delete your personal information;
  • request the restriction of processing of your personal information or to object to certain processing activities;
  • request portability of your personal information;
  • object to certain information processing activities;
  • withdraw any consent initially provided;

If there has been a change of address, please also attach a copy of the back page after you have performed the address change procedure.)
    • A copy of certificate of residence (which must have been issued within the past 3 months)

    • A copy of driver's license/or passport of the applicant agent
    • A copy of certificate of residence of the applicant agent(which must have been issued within the past 3 months)
    • When the applicant agent is the attorney: please provide written representation of registered items
    • A letter of attorney signed by the person

B.Other Important Matters concerning the Requests for Disclosure

If the documentation for the request is insufficient/incomplete, Hitachi AC might not be able to answer questions precisely.Please note that the documentation provided for the request will not be returned.

The response to the customer will be sent by restricted delivery mail (special type) to the address stated on the customer's application and identification document.

The Company requests a grace period of about 2 to 3 weeks to conduct an internal check before responding to requests.

Please note that any personal information you submit us will not be deleted, as we answer your inquiry, and we will hold it for reference.

Please also note that a person who's personal information deleted/suspended with his or her request may not be able to use all or part of our services provided.
